I hate the saying “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”
I used to have it written on my bedroom door as an emo teenager.
I used to think that to be “tough” was a good thing but I have learnt that it isn’t. To feel the need to be tough means you put up defences and hold on to bitterness.
When bad things happen kids, don’t suck it up. Cry, feel sorry for yourself, then forgive and move on because life is a beautiful thing.
So I’ve been listening to a lot of British Sea Power recently, a band that had previously passed me by and whilst I do like a lot of their stuff the best part of being introduced to them is discovering Brakes as a result. Whilst I usually get excited about finding new bands, there’s nothing less exciting about ones that you’ve missed. This is one of them for me. Perfect.
So.
This is Joe.
He plays bass.
He is in our band now.
Kingston, Fighting Cocks, 22nd May.

Twitter is a wonderful platform but does highlight that we share this planet with some truly hideous people.
There’s lots of awful accounts on twitter, I’ll probably post another one like this if I get the time. For now though, read and reblog about five of the worst.

As well as being one of my all time favourite songs, this pretty much sums up my mood today. Enjoy.
